The original drawing was created with pen on paper. When the drawing was completed I saw a vase with flowers in the design. So, during the coloration phase of the process I tried several different color schemes until I had one that I liked. Be that as it may, at a recent art show an observer noted that the bouquet appeared to him as it would have been experienced after several martinis or even as if the vase had turned into a martini glass with olives and their red pimento fillings spilling everywhere (smile emoji).
The coloration phase of the work was completed by creating several copies of the sketch and then coloring the background using colored pencils. The transfer of the original design to canvas was accomplished with a computer projector, projecting the original drawing onto the blank canvas whereby it could be redrawn at the proper size to fit the dimensions of the canvas.
