"Walk With Me" invites the observer to enter a dream world populated by deep green hillsides one of which transforms into an eerie being in the waning light of a sunset when all things become magical. The full description includes a video where Dave explains the creative process for this piece.
I have a vivid imagination that often sees wild spaces and worlds into which I likes to enter and explore. In "Walk With Me" I invite the viewer to join me on my endless adventure. This painting grew almost by itself with my efforts simply trying to follow along with what was appearing in my imagination. I recognize now that some of the dreams must have had a connection to the "Matrix" movies when Neo began to see the world as a flow of digital information. To me the present tense of the world is filled with this seemingly infinite energy that leavens every moment.
The work itself began as a series of palette knife and single-edge razor blade strokes loaded with a variety of colors. Brush work was added at the end to get the deep blue sky and vibrant horizon, as well as deep green in the hills and valleys below the life form that appears to lift itself into the night sky.
